Rosa City, Laguna– The Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office in partnership with the Provincial Government of Laguna, Enchanted Kingdom, and Laguna Chamber of Commerce and Industry being agents for inclusive business development brings in this year’s MSME Summit for Laguna entrepreneurs held at Enchanting Events Place, Enchanted Kingdom, Santa Rosa City, Laguna last Friday August 11, 2023

The MSME Summit aims to apprise and serve as a venue for entrepreneurs and partners to collaborate and provide opportunities for wider access to finance, technology, and market.

The Laguna MSME Summit 2023 with a theme “Hugpungan ng Kalinangan Para sa Kaunlaran ng Kalakalan was spearhead by DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) Laguna OIC Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan together with Enchanted Kingdom CEO Mario Mamon and Enchanted Kingdom COO Cynthia R. Mamon.

Present on the said event was DTI Usec. Ana Carolina Sanchez, Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez, Laguna 2nd District Representative Ruth M. Hernandez, LEDIPO Laguna Head Fatima “Pinky” Villasenor, DTI ROG Assistant Secretary Leonila Baluyut, EMB Assitant Director Jhino B. Ilano and Laguna Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Atty. Rose Coloma and exhibitors.

The Laguna MSME Summit aims to provide the participants with updates on government initiatives in relation to increased access to market, technology, and finance, encourage existing MSMEs to constantly improve and participate in various programs initiated by the government and also take advantage of the opportunities offered by various financial institutions in growing their businesses; and become a venue for participants to network with other MSMEs and stakeholders.

According to DTI OIC PD Christian, the Laguna MSME Summit 2023 offers simultaneous events such as summit conference mainly on relative programs and services from other stakeholders (Export Marketing Bureau, the Department of Science and Technology, Small Business Corporation, Card SME Inc., BPI Foundation, the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and the Food and Drug Administration); financial forum featuring invited financial institutions; and trade fair at the Agila Grounds (also located at Enchanted Kingdom) showcasing a dynamic platform to showcase and promote the diverse range of products originating from Laguna, encompassing fashion, culinary delights, and traditional crafts aside from Laguna native delicacies.

According to Laguna Tourism Council President and Enchanted Kingdom COO Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon, trade and tourism always go hand and hand whatever we do,  manufacture goods or whatever services it has to be promoted and tourism is marketing arm for that “ Here in Enchanted nangunguna po kami sa suporta sa Sta. Rosa City, as private sector pinapakita naming tulong, we welcome millions of people here at Enchanted binibigay namin ang access to market  yung mga produkto na gawa mula sa OTOP group dito namin binebenta, we support also trade fairs” Dr. Cynthia added.

PD Christian mentioned that in the latter part of the program there will be ceremonial awarding of certificates to 2023 KMME-MME mentee-graduates who successfully completed the modules for the Multisectoral Batch.

PD Tungohan, explained that the KMME-MME Online is a 10-module mentorship program by DTI Laguna and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo that capacitates its mentees with fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Also two successful Laguna business owners will impart their entrepreneurial journey toward success.
