Local tourism head Rhouz Camposanto, in an interview on Tuesday said the tour, a regular activity every August, is being done to make its townfolks, especially the youth and various sectors, realize the municipality’s significance and the various roles it played in history and the country’s independence.

Mahalagang makilala ng bagong henerasyon ang ating Kawit at ang ambag natin sa kasaysayan pati na sa kalayaan ng ating bansa,” (it is important for the new generation to have an in depth knowledge about our town and its contribution to history and independence), said Camposanto.

Through this understanding, it is the LGU’s hope that it will forge appreciation and, then, love for the town.

Done in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the tour itinerary includes the town’s historical landmarks like Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo, Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Mary Magdalene, the Battle of Binakayan Monument and the Aguinaldo museum and freedom park.
