𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗫 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮

The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), operated by MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MPHI), has been recognized with three major awards by the City Government of Santa Rosa for its outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability, marking the fourth consecutive year the company has received the local government’s recognition.

MPHI, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) and the concessionaire of CALAX, was honored during the city’s annual Guarantee the Restoration of the Environment & our Ecological Niche (GREEN) Awards, a program that recognizes organizations, institutions, and individuals for their significant contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development.

This year, CALAX received the following awards:

• Sustainable Development Partner for its active participation in coastal clean-up initiatives aimed at protecting ecosystems, reducing pollution in Laguna Lake, and supporting climate change mitigation efforts.
• Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partner in recognition of its efforts to reduce energy consumption, promote renewable energy solutions, and implement energy-efficient practices across its offices, toll plazas, and operational facilities.
• Earth Hour Advocate for its consistent support of the global Earth Hour campaign and its initiatives to promote energy conservation and environmental awareness.

Representatives of MPCALA received the awards on behalf of the company during the recognition ceremony.

Pangilinan.

Stretching 44.6 kilometers, CALAX connects the provinces of Cavite and Laguna and is designed to improve regional mobility. Once fully completed, the expressway is expected to accommodate approximately 95,000 motorists daily.

At present, operational sections from Biñan, Laguna to General Trias, Cavite have reduced travel time between the two areas from about one hour to just 26 minutes.

Beyond enhancing transportation efficiency, CALAX continues to pursue sustainability initiatives by helping reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions through shorter travel times. The expressway also incorporates environmentally responsible features, including solar power systems, rainwater harvesting facilities, and the gradual transition of its corporate fleet to electric vehicles (EVs), reinforcing its commitment to sustainable infrastructure and responsible expressway operations.
