The 23rd Bañamos Hot Spring Baths Festival in Los Baños will also mark the 409th founding anniversary of the town. This year’s celebration is set to be more vibrant and well-prepared.

The event will feature activities such as the Bañamos Aqua Games, Mr. and Ms. Bagong Los Baños, Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, Bayle sa Kalye, and the Grand Revelry Colors of Bañamos. With such a diverse lineup, a significant influx of tourists is expected, which should boost sales for vendors aligned with this year’s festival theme: “Patuloy ang progreso sa matatag na bayan ng Bagong Los Baños.”

During a press conference held on September 4, Councilor Jonathan ‘JONSI’ Siytiap, a committee member, mentioned that there would be 50 to 60 merchants located at UPLB Freedom Park selling local products, food, and various goods from local entrepreneurs. In addition, online sellers will also be setting up their products for sale during the festival.

Mayor Anthony Ton Genuino, the town’s leader, noted that last year, local businesses saw significant profits.

“This year, building on the success of last year’s festival, we observed the impressive earnings of local merchants. To support them further, we’ve added new selling opportunities, not just at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta or Bayle sa Kalye, but also at the carnival fair, the flower garden show at the municipal hall, and at the Philippine High School for the Arts, which will host mural and photography competitions. These new avenues are designed to provide even more selling opportunities for our local businesses.”

Last year, the carnival fair alone generated revenue of about 3.5 to 3.6 million pesos from food booths, and the local government hopes to either match or exceed this amount this year.

The Bañamos organizers are also committed to being eco-friendly regarding waste management. The area will be cleaned every night after the events by designated staff.

The Bañamos Festival will take place from September 17 to September 22.
