Tiwi, Albay – AP Renewables Inc. (APRI) and the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) held an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on December 2, 2024, to discuss the Land Lease Agreement (LLA) covering the Tiwi Geothermal Facility.
The event, attended by barangay officials from APRI’s 16 host communities, was organized in collaboration with APRI’s Compliance Department, Reputation Management Team (RMT), and Security Team.
Leonardo Robel, APRI Vice President for Corporate Services, highlighted that the campaign served as a platform for barangay officials to directly engage with PSALM, the landowner of the Tiwi power plants, which APRI has been operating since 2009. This interaction allowed officials to gain a deeper understanding of the LLA’s key provisions, empowering them to ensure compliance and address community concerns effectively.
The campaign included informative discussions and open forums, where officials raised questions about the agreement’s implications, particularly on sustainable energy production, job creation, and socio-economic development.
This initiative reflects APRI’s ongoing commitment to fostering transparency and strengthening its partnership with local communities through meaningful engagements.
