Dasmariñas, Cavite – National University Dasmariñas and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite formalized their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 9, 2024, at NU Dasmariñas, Governor’s Drive, City of Dasmariñas, Cavite.
The agreement focuses on bolstering the University’s extension services, event partnerships, and academic internships, while fostering inclusivity and effective resource sharing with DTI.
DTI Cavite’s OIC Provincial Director, Lilibeth Chavez, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting DTI’s dedication to empowering stakeholders through expanded business development and consumer advocacy services. She noted DTI’s ongoing support in providing Learning Service Providers (LSPs), participating in research, and other relevant interventions for the University.
Despite being relatively new, having been established only four years ago, NU Dasmariñas is committed to enhancing its community programs and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Executive Director Catherine Lagadia emphasized the University’s dedication to scaling its community initiatives, as demonstrated by the proposed NUD Community projects presented by Community Extension OIC Director Manuel Logatoc. These include the NUD ComEx Project U.N.L.A.D, Project N.I.N.G.A.S, Project A.S.E.N.S.O, and Proyektong May Husay at Malasakit.
The MOU signing was attended by NU Academic Director Ramon Rodriguez, SBMA OIC Dean Laila Malabanan, Program Chair Josephine Moradoz, AILPO Coordinator Steven Jocson, DTI Cavite BDD Chief Rebecca Tarasona, Trade & Industry Development Analyst Froy Galapon, and Trade & Industry Development Specialist Kristine Diaz.
