Veteran journalists Roselle Aquino of Manila Times and Gil Aman of People’s Tonight have officially sworn in as new members of the Camp Vicente Lim Press Corps (CVLPC). This took place during the general assembly of the CVLPC in Calamba, Laguna, on March 15, 2025. Both Aquino and Aman were invited to collaborate and join the press corps, which consists of members from television, radio, newspapers, and online news outlets.

Aquino and Aman were previously part of the PRO4A Press Corps but decided to join the CVLPC for several reasons. According to Aman, “There were no activities for a long time. I wanted something with media activities that could benefit the members.”

Aquino, a former vice president of the PRO4A Press Corps, shared her reasons for leaving, saying, “For a long time, there were no elections. I felt embarrassed to be with my colleagues. As the vice-president of the PRO4A Press Corps back then, I wanted a transparent organization, but I did not see that happening.”

Roy Tomandao, long-time president of the CVLPC and now a board director and Manila Standard correspondent, welcomed the veteran journalists into their group. He expressed, “We are happy because they believe in our objectives as a group. We are working media, and we are open to collaborations with every journalist in Calabarzon. Unity makes the journalism industry stronger.”

Efforts to reach Mr. Ed Amoroso, president of the PRO4A Press Corps, for comment have been unsuccessful at this time.
