Supporters of Laguna gubernatorial candidate Sol Aragones condemned the deceptive and malicious “deep fake” video that altered her words to tarnish her image.
In the fake video, it appeared that Aragones was saying that sharp-tongued public hospital employees should make people suffer more.
However, in the original video, Aragones actually expressed her hope that hospital employees would be kinder and treat ordinary people better. She also acknowledged that these employees are overwhelmed with work, which is why she advocates for additional staff and equipment for the hospitals.
As a result, the people of Laguna have become more alert and discerning about the misleading content circulating on social media.
According to Katrina, an advocate for women’s rights, this kind of black propaganda only highlights the strong call from the people of Laguna for Sol Aragones to become governor.
In the five surveys conducted, Aragones is leading. Because of this, womenโs groups in Laguna suspect that the attacks are politically motivated, with some of Aragonesโ opponents possibly paying trolls to create content aimed solely at spreading false information.
Aragones challenged those behind the fake video to fight fairly and not hide behind their trolls who spread false information.
