CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Police Regional Office (PRO) Calabarzon is setting new standards in policing with the introduction of cutting-edge technology and strategic initiatives aimed at improving law enforcement up to remote villages (barangays) throughout the region. The new measures include the P.O.W.E.R. Services Application, the Blue Cops on Mobile Wheels (BCMW) project, and the R.O.N.D.A. initiative.
In a statement to the press today, Regional Director PBGen Paul Kenneth T. Lucas outlined the goals of these initiatives, which focus on increasing police visibility in barangays, particularly those in isolated areas, to enhance community safety and security.
The P.O.W.E.R. Services App—an acronym for Protect Our Community’s Well-being through Effective Services and Response—is a user-friendly, internet-based platform designed to streamline emergency requests, crime reporting, complaint filing, and the application for clearances and permits. The app also provides safety tips and guidelines, fostering a seamless connection between the police and the community.
The Blue Cops on Mobile Wheels (BCMW) project introduces mobile police sub-stations operated by uniformed personnel and force multipliers. These mobile units ensure a continuous police presence in high-security areas, including business districts, alleyways, and crowded streets. The BCMW units also serve as mini tactical operations centers during emergencies, facilitating rapid coordination and communication among response teams, which is crucial for managing crises such as natural disasters.
The R.O.N.D.A. initiative—short for PRO 4A Revitalized Patrol Operations and Neighborhood Watch to Deter Crimes and Public Safety Incidents through Aggressive Police Presence—represents a renewed focus on proactive patrols. This initiative aims to enhance crime prevention and community safety through a visible and assertive police presence, particularly in under-served and remote barangays.
“We remain committed to innovation and progress to ensure the safety and well-being of every citizen in Calabarzon,” RD Lucas emphasized adding that these new policing standards underscore PRO Calabarzon’s dedication to enhancing public safety and security across the region.
