The Laguna Provincial Police Office (LPPO), in close collaboration with the Provincial Government of Laguna under the leadership of Governor Sol Aragones, is intensifying efforts to combat fake news and improve emergency response services across the province.

Nelson Bautista, Supervising Administrative Officer of the Provincial Information Office (PIO) – Laguna, reaffirmed their commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and reliable information to the public.

PLTCOL Jojo Sabeniano, Chief of the LPPO Public Information Office, emphasized the critical role of the police in upholding truth in communication. “Kami pong mga kapulisan ay hindi puwedeng maging tagapagkalat ng maling impormasyon—kami ang nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon,” he said, adding that the LPPO continues to support information officers throughout the province in strengthening public trust.

PLTCOL Franco Allex Reglos also highlighted initiatives from LPPO Provincial Director PCOL Jonar Yupio, including the launch of a command center by the end of August, installation of CCTV cameras in patrol vehicles for round-the-clock surveillance, and the implementation of “Operation 911” for immediate emergency response.

Quoting the Chief PNP, Reglos noted: “Huwag niyo na kaming hanapin sa mga presinto. Kami ay nasa inyong mga telepono. Just dial 911—darating ang kapulisan sa loob ng limang minuto.” He further explained that the service remains accessible regardless of mobile load: “May load o wala, basta may cellphone, i-dial ang 911 at may sasagot sa ating police office.”

These initiatives reflect a unified effort between the LPPO and the provincial government to make emergency services more responsive and fight the spread of disinformation in Laguna—ultimately reinforcing public safety, transparency, and trust.
