Laguna Governor Sol Aragones has ordered the immediate removal of electric poles obstructing the third lane of a key road in Los Baños—an action aimed at easing the heavy traffic congestion that has long frustrated motorists, especially during rush hours.
The road-clearing initiative officially began earlier today through the combined efforts of the Provincial Government of Laguna, the Los Baños Local Government led by Mayor Niel Nocon, Meralco, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
More than 50 electric poles are set to be removed to fully open the road’s three lanes for public use. This move is seen as a critical step toward improving traffic flow and maximizing road capacity.
Many motorists have welcomed the development, expressing relief and appreciation. For years, commuters have endured severe traffic bottlenecks in Los Baños, particularly during peak hours, due to these misplaced poles. With their removal now underway, drivers are hopeful for a smoother, faster daily commute.
