The CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink) segment is now set in motion as Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), signed a P1.79-billion construction contract with EEI Corporation.
The contract was formalized on Tuesday, May 21, with the official signing conducted by Mr. Rogelio Singson, President and Chief Executive Officer of MPTC, Mr. Raul L. Ignacio, President and General Manager of CIC, Ms. Elnora D. Rumawak, Vice President for Finance of CIC, and Ms. Anna Figuera, Senior Vice President for Contracts and Commercial Division and Mr. Christopher F. Esguerra, Vice President for Commercial Division of EEI Corporation.
“This collaboration will provide the vital link connecting CAVITEX andCALAX road network. CIC is committed to ensuring the best road qualityfor its infrastructure, adhering to the highest standards for the safety of motorists. This project will enhance economic activities in Cavite, Laguna and the National Capital Region,” remarked Mr. Singson.
EEI Corp will construct the 1.2-kilometer, 2×2 lane CCLink (Segment 4 Extension), extending from the CAVITEX Kawit Toll Plaza to the upcoming CALAX Kawit Interchange. Construction of the link is targeted to commence next month and is set to be operational by mid-2025. At present, operational segments of CAVITEX stretch 14 kilometers, from R1 Expressway (formerly Coastal Road) up to R1 Extension (Zapote to Kawit).
