She reported that Cavite has 2,460,981 registered voters spread across 16 municipalities and seven cities, covering eight congressional districts. Cortez stated that 75 candidates (61 males and 14 females) are vying for seats in the 31 congressional districts.

In the gubernatorial race, 28 candidates are competing for five positions, while 22 candidates are running for the five vice gubernatorial posts.

To promote transparency and integrity in the upcoming elections, Cortez announced that Comelec will conduct a voter education caravan. This initiative will introduce voters to the new automated counting machines and offer hands-on demonstrations of the voting process.

“We will be demonstrating the actual voting process using the new machines in every barangay (village) throughout the region,” she explained.
