‘CLONED’ STL MACHINES, ALLEGEDLY UNAUTHORIZED OPERATIONS IN QC DRAW CALL FOR PROBE

Atty. Ariel Inton has called for an immediate investigation into alleged unauthorized Small Town Lottery (STL) operations in Quezon City, particularly the reported use of so-called “cloned” STL machines and betting stations allegedly operating without proper authorization from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Inton urged authorities to verify the reported use of the alleged “cloned” machines and determine whether the betting stations involved have valid permits and authorization to operate.

He also called for a thorough examination of the operators’ documents, permits, ownership structures, and actual operations to determine whether any violations of existing PCSO rules and regulations may have occurred.

The allegations, if substantiated, could have implications for authorized STL operators, bettors, and the government’s corresponding revenues and collections.
