MPT South delivers relief to Typhoon and Habagat-Hit communities along CAVITEX and CALAX

In response to the severe impact of recent typhoon conditions and intensified southwest monsoon rains (Habagat) that brought widespread flooding to parts of Metro Manila, Cavite, and Laguna, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) has initiated immediate relief efforts to support affected communities along its expressway corridors.

MPT South, a business unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), swiftly mobilized aid operations in coordination with local government units (LGUs) in areas surrounding the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX). Through this collaboration, the company distributed a total of 3,000 relief packs to families temporarily displaced by the recent flooding.

In addition to these relief efforts, MPT South announced its intention to provide targeted assistance to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators who ply the CAVITEX route and whose livelihoods have been disrupted due to the prolonged inclement weather.

“We’re more than just a tollway operator. We are part of these communities—committed partners and neighbors who show up, especially in times of crisis,” said Elnora D. Rumawak, Officer-in-Charge of MPT South. “We understand the hardships that our communities are facing, and we are here to help ease their burden.”

The initiative underscores MPT South’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and disaster response, positioning the tollway operator as a key partner in not just infrastructure development, but also in supporting community resilience during emergencies.
