Governor Sol Aragones earned praise from many Lagunenses for her dedication and hands-on leadership as she personally led the launch of the “Akay ni Gob Libreng Tanghalian” program — an initiative aimed at delivering hot meals and heartfelt care to families affected by continuous rains and flooding.

The governor, along with local officials, visited evacuation centers and several barangays in the towns of Santa Rosa, Calamba, Victoria, Mabitac, Majayjay, Lumban, and Santa Cruz. Over 8,000 food packs were distributed to residents as part of the provincial government’s emergency response efforts.

Residents who had the chance to speak with Gov. Sol expressed their gratitude, saying they truly felt her compassion, swift action, and visible presence during a time of need.

It can be recalled that during her campaign, Aragones consistently emphasized her desire to be physically present and available whenever her constituents needed her most. She shared that her background as a journalist had trained her to face challenging situations head-on — and that she would never hesitate to step in when the people needed support.

The “Akay ni Gob Libreng Tanghalian” program continues to serve as a prompt and concrete response to hunger and need during calamities. More than just providing meals, the initiative promotes a spirit of compassion, unity, and community — a testament that in times of crisis, the people of Laguna are never alone under a GOByernong may SOLusyon (a government with solutions).
