CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Three supporters of the CPP-NPA-NDF from the municipality of San Francisco in Quezon made the commendable decision to withdraw their support from the communist party on Monday, July 24, 2023.
The initiative was successfully carried out through the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in San Francisco, along with the invaluable assistance of the 85th Infantry “Sandiwa” Battalion and San Francisco PNP. These joint forces facilitated the withdrawal of support from three residents hailing from Sitio Cabiao Ilaya in Barangay Sto. Nino.
According to the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong, as more individuals choose to break ties with extremist groups, the province moves closer to a brighter and more secure future for all its residents. He then reiterated that 2ID remains resolute in its pursuit of sustainable peace and progress, and stands ready to assist other communities seeking to separate themselves from the influence of the Communist Terrorist Groups.
