Senator Imee Marcos expressed support for the establishment of a tertiary hospital in Laguna during her visit to a gathering of Sol’s Ladies, who are backing Sol Aragones as the province’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming elections.
Marcos witnessed the distribution of livelihood packages aimed at empowering women to start their own businesses, with 4,000 recipients attending the event held at La Vista Pansol in Calamba, Laguna.
The senator praised the efforts of the Akay ni Sol party-list and Sol Aragones herself, recalling her mother’s words about the struggles of those in need (Sabi nga ng Nanay ko , Hirap na hirap na nga magmumukhang kawawa pa.} which aligned with Aragones’ principles.
In a media interview, Senator Marcos highlighted that Laguna is the only province in the region without a tertiary hospital but expressed optimism that it would soon have one, just like other provinces in the area.
It is worth noting that the Marcos family has been instrumental in establishing significant health facilities such as the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and the Lung Center, demonstrating their focus on improving the health of Filipinos.
Aragones, for her part, has made healthcare system improvement in Laguna a central platform of her campaign.
