In a bid to promote a safer road environment across the country, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) formally launched its latest road safety advocacy campaign, “Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety,” as part of the observance of Road Safety Month. The ceremonial launch was held at the Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City, drawing over 100 participants from various sectors.

The campaign aims to strengthen public awareness and cooperation in fostering responsible driving behavior and sustainable road safety practices.

The event was attended by key representatives from national government agencies including the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), PNP Highway Patrol Group Region IV-A, Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), and PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC).

Local government units from Metro Manila and CALABARZON were also present, with delegates from Taguig, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, General Trias, Dasmariñas, Silang, Santa Rosa, and Biñan joining the launch.

The transport sector was equally represented, with major terminal and logistics stakeholders participating in the event. Among them were the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), One Ayala Terminal, advocacy groups such as ACTO, and several transport companies including TAS Trans Corp., Erjohn & Almark Transit Corp. Co., Don Aldrin Transport Inc., Saulog Transit, and Jasper Jean Services Inc.

Additionally, UV Express operators like DIPTA-MOA, United 12 Corp., TVTAP, and both traditional and modern jeepney groups such as Paliparan 3, Kapit Bisig Transport, PABODA, CAMBIO, and Universal Transport took part in the event. The Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association Inc. was also present, representing the logistics sector.

Delivering the welcome remarks was Mr. Jose Ma. K. Lim, President and CEO of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC). He highlighted the importance of expressway developers not only in infrastructure development but also in shaping road safety culture. “This project is just one of the many ways MPTC demonstrates its unwavering commitment to the safety of all road users. We believe that true progress in road safety comes through collaboration—by working hand-in-hand with government, private partners, and the communities we serve,” Lim stated.

The event’s highlight was the official unveiling of the “Drayberks: Ready 4 Safety” campaign, led by Ms. Arlette V. Capistrano, MPT South Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management.

Launched in 2018, the Drayberks program has become a flagship initiative for road discipline awareness. Now in its sixth year, the program has gained recognition as a model road safety effort, recently receiving a Bronze Stevie® Award for Innovation in Communications/Public Relations at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

The refreshed “Ready 4 Safety” campaign is designed to engage a wider audience—ranging from public utility drivers and logistics partners to private motorists. The program features updated training modules centered on four key pillars: Responsible Driving, Expressway Rules, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection, and Road Discipline.

“This campaign reinforces our commitment to educating drivers, not just for their safety, but for the safety of everyone on the road,” Capistrano emphasized during the launch.

The event concluded with a moving ceremony where participants collectively took the Drayberks Pledge, led by MPT South OIC Elnora D. Rumawak, followed by a symbolic pledge signing. This act unified government agencies, transport organizations, and local leaders under a common commitment to safer roads.

As the event came to a close, MPT South reaffirmed its vision—beyond constructing expressways, it is building a culture of safety, accountability, and readiness, one driver and one community at a time.
