The Commission on Elections (COMELEC), under the leadership of Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia, through its Law Department, has formally served a complaint and subpoena to Chinese national Alice Leal Guo, also known as Hua Ping Lin Guo, regarding allegations of misrepresenting her true identity.
The complaint and subpoena were delivered to Alice Manaloto, secretary to Bamban’s Acting Mayor Leonardo Anunciacion, at the Bamban Municipal Hall on August 13, 2024. Alice Leal Guo, the suspended former Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, was not present during the service.
Guo faces a subpoena for allegedly violating Section 74 in conjunction with Section 262 of the Omnibus Election Code, concerning Material Misrepresentation on her Certificate of Candidacy for the position of Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac in the 2022 National and Local Elections (E.O. Case No. 24-102). This case is notable due to her connections with POGO activities.
