In a significant step toward strengthening public healthcare, the Provincial Government of Laguna, led by Governor Sol Aragones, has officially inaugurated its second chemotherapy center today, April 29, at the San Pablo City District Hospital, in partnership with the Provincial Health Office and the Laguna Health Team.
The new facility is equipped with 20 chemotherapy chairs and is now open for patient registration. Interested patients need only present a valid ID and their PhilHealth Member Data Record (MDR). Services begin immediately, offering free chemotherapy to qualified individuals, along with additional support such as half a cavan of rice to help ease the burden on patients undergoing treatment.

This development builds on the earlier launch of the province’s first chemotherapy center at Laguna Medical Center (LMC), further enhancing Laguna’s capacity to provide accessible cancer care.
“Welcome po lahat dito. Basta taga-Laguna—bata man o matanda—kung kailangan magpa-chemo, maaari po kayong magpunta,” the governor said, highlighting that the program is open to all Laguna residents regardless of age.
San Pablo City District Hospital Chief, Dr. James Lee Ho, also urged patients to take advantage of the service. “Pwede na po kayong magpa-register dito sa amin. Magsisimula na po ang libreng chemotherapy,” he shared, assuring the public of the hospital’s readiness to serve.
The expansion underscores the provincial government’s commitment to delivering accessible, inclusive, and compassionate healthcare. With additional chemotherapy services now available, the initiative is expected to decongest major hospitals and provide timely treatment closer to home—ultimately improving patient outcomes and the overall quality of care for Lagunenses.
