PNP Acting Chief Nartatez visits PRO CALABARZON, emphasizes community-centered policing

Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. conducted a command visit to the Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO-4A) on [date] as part of his ongoing engagements with police units nationwide.

PLTGen Nartatez was accorded arrival honors upon his arrival at Camp BGen Vicente P. Lim and was warmly welcomed by PRO CALABARZON Regional Director Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth T. Lucas, along with members of the command group, regional staff, provincial directors, and chiefs of national support units.

During his Talk-to-Men, the PNP Acting Chief underscored the core duties of police personnel, reiterating the organization’s mandate to enforce the law, prevent and control crime, maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety and internal security. He emphasized that these responsibilities are most effectively carried out through strong community engagement, highlighting police patrol operations and investigation as the two main pillars of effective policing.

These priorities, he said, are aligned with his Focused Agenda and the PNP’s guiding mantra, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

PLTGen Nartatez also recognized the dedication and sacrifices of PNP personnel and cited government initiatives aimed at improving their welfare. He noted the increases in salary and allowances provided under Republic Act No. 12314, or the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year 2026, which include salary adjustments, subsistence allowance, and rice allowance. These measures, he said, are intended to further motivate police officers to maintain professionalism and excellence in the performance of their duties.

The PNP Chief likewise cited the organization’s 80 percent public trust rating as an indication of sustained efforts to deliver responsive, honest, and people-centered police service.

The visit concluded with a command conference, during which PBGEN Lucas presented the accomplishments and operational gains of PRO CALABARZON.
