Mapúa University has taken a bold step in preparing its students for the rapidly evolving job market by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into all its academic programs.
Unlike traditional approaches that limit AI education to computer science or engineering courses, Mapúa ensures that AI is embedded across disciplines—including business, computer science, and even aviation.
University officials emphasized that this move is driven by the institution’s commitment to graduate employability.
“We want to make sure our graduates are truly ready to be employed. That is the promise of Mapúa—that when our students finish their programs, they hit the ground running,” Engr. Rolando Bitor, Asst. VP- Institute for global sustainability and A.I. integration- MAPÚA MALAYAN COLLEGES LAGUNA said.
As industries worldwide embrace AI-driven technologies, Mapúa aims to equip students with the necessary skills to adapt and thrive in this new era.
To maintain a future-ready curriculum, the university consults regularly with its Program Advisory Panels (PAPs). These panels—composed of representatives from government, industry leaders, and alumni—provide annual feedback to keep academic programs aligned with the latest developments.
The integration of AI into our programs is shaped not only by academic expertise but also by direct input from industry and government partners,” Bitor noted.
By weaving AI into every program, Mapúa positions itself as a pioneer in shaping a workforce that is both adaptable and competitive in the age of digital transformation.
